Digitization of Hong Kong Science Museum Artifacts
September 2020 to February 2021
Digitized and archived different artifacts for the Hong Kong Science Museum. All these digital artifacts are on a permanent display in their newly developed digital art gallery as well as on Sketchfab’s online platform.
I worked with a team of artists and curators from IOIO Creative, which is an art organization working in Hong Kong, Taiwan, & USA, and the Hong KongĀ Science Museum to digitize very delicate and unique stones that the Hong Kong Science Museum has collected from around the world. These stones are on a permanent display along with their digital replicas in their newly developed digital art gallery. Since the original artifacts cannot be touched the museum has placed touch screens next to the artifacts that show the digital replicas along with relevant information to the stone. The visitors can rotate, zoom in& out, and see the artifacts from all possible angles, and learn more about these beautiful artifacts. These digital artifacts are also available on the Hong Kong Science Museum’s official Sketchfab account.
